They did not want to deal with such a person and that is why they had to go out of their way to teach him a lesson. Mistress Medea does not like it when someone disappoints her and when this guy did it, she had to act accordingly and she felt that the best thing to do in the circumstances was to shit on him and she did that without thinking twice about it. It worked out the way she wanted and the guy never messed with her or disappointed her again after that. Things worked out the way she wanted them to.
